Reno, NV – June 30, 2020 – – Over the past 9 weeks, Hospitality Industry Partnerships (HIP) has had the pleasure of handing out over 3,000 meals (approximately 9,000 servings) to out-of-work or limited work hospitality and service team members.
With businesses reopening and employment opportunities arising, the number of people coming to receive these meals has dwindled; therefore, as of Friday, June 26, 2020, the HIP Management Team has suspended meal distribution at both Liberty Wine & Food Exchange and The Union Carson. The Team is prepared to ramp up the meal distribution again should the need arise.
“We are happy to see our economy opening up and people getting back to work; however, we know there are still many out there who may need assistance,” said Mark Estee, Vice President of HIP and Owner of Reno Local Food Group. “We are excited to launch a new initiative that will allow us to offer a more individualized hand up to our hospitality, service & independent contractor friends.”
In lieu of the meal distribution, HIP has launched an online request for assistance form that can be completed by anyone living in the Reno area who has been or is currently employed in the hospitality or service industry (including independent contractors). The HIP Team would be honored to have the opportunity to provide food relief and/or basic needs assistance to those individuals and families that are not currently receiving other assistance, receiving assistance but still unable to make ends meet and/or simply need a meal or some groceries to tide them over until they can find a full-time position.
If you would like to support this initiative, please consider making a monetary donation to HIP by visiting NevadaHIP.com or sending checks, payable to HIP, to 401 Ryland Street, Ste. 201, Reno, NV 89502.
