Hospitality Industry Partnerships (HIP) Expands Meal Distribution to Carson City

Hospitality Industry Partnerships (HIP) is excited to announce that they are expanding their meal distribution to Carson City starting Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 4 PM.

HIP was recently formed with the mission to feed hospitality and service industry team members that are out of work or have been placed on reduced hours.  This includes, but is not limited to, restaurant, bar, casino, hotel, hair and nail salon, barber shop, fitness, special event & sports event personnel.  HIP has assembled a group of local food industry volunteers, taking no profit, to prepare meals at the lowest cost.  In the first two weeks of this program, the team has served over 630 meals, feeding approximately 1,900 people.

In addition to the meal distribution in Reno at Liberty Food & Wine Exchange via Fulton Alley on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s from 4 – 7 PM, HIP will now also be in Carson City at The Union via Curry Street on Thursday’s and Saturday’s from 4 – 6 PM giving out up to 100 meals each of these days.  Meals are available on a first come, first serve basis. Vegan/vegetarian options will be available. Each meal will serve 2-3 people. Social distancing protocols are in place.

If you are interested in helping through the donation of time or product, please email the HIP team at info@NevadaHIP.com.  If you would like to make a monetary donation, please visit NevadaHIP.com or send checks, payable to Hospitality Industry Partnerships, to PO Box 17332, Reno, NV 89511.

They’ve Served Us, It’s Our Time To Serve Them

Hospitality Industry Partnerships (HIP) is rolling out free meals to Reno’s displaced hospitality and service workers on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Fridays starting Monday, April 20, 2020.

HIP was recently formed with the mission to feed out-of-work restaurant, bar, casino, hotel, and food & beverage workers that have been decimated by this pandemic.  HIP has assembled a group of local food industry volunteers, taking no profit, to prepare meals at the lowest cost. This is possible through generous donations and sponsors within the local community. Industry veteran, Mark Estee, with the assistance of US Foods, is among those donating time and product to support this cause. These initial donations allow the team to provide 300 meals three days a week to those in need and the program will expand as rapidly as contributions allow, including adding additional locations.

Beginning Monday, April 20, 2020 meals will be distributed from 4:00 -7:00 PM on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s at Liberty Food & Wine Exchange through Fulton Alley accessible via 1st Street.  Displaced hospitality and service workers will need to provide an old paycheck stub, name tag, uniform or something reflecting they are in the hospitality industry.  Meals are available on a first come, first serve basis. Vegan/vegetarian options will be available. Each meal will serve 2-3 people. Social distancing protocols are in place.

If you are interested in helping through the donation of time or product, please email the HIP team at info@NevadaHIP.com.  If you would like to make a monetary donation, please visit NevadaHIP.com or send checks, payable to Hospitality Industry Partnerships (HIP), to 401 Ryland Street, Ste. 201, Reno, NV 89502.
